Corporación Hijos de Rivera incorpora a la cervecera artesana BdeGust para reforzar su división Craft

Synergy between artisanal excellence and positive social impact

Corporación Hijos de Rivera is accelerating its expansion in the specialty beer segment with the addition of BdeGust. This operation not only reinforces the Galician company’s premium portfolio in Catalonia but also solidifies its positive impact strategy by integrating a business model that combines haute cuisine with job placement for individuals at risk of social exclusion.

Consolidation in the premium and fine dining segments

Barcelona, 23/04/26
The incorporation of BdeGust into the Hijos de Rivera ecosystem addresses a clear market logic: the rising demand for products with purpose and traceability

Founded in 2019, BdeGust has successfully positioned its references (Lager, Gluten-free Wheat, Hazy IPA, and Pastry Stout) in high-end establishments, including five-star hotels and Michelin-starred restaurants. This penetration into the luxury HoReCa channel provides Hijos de Rivera with a strategic tool to bolster its presence in the Craft segment, where the perceived value of the product is closely linked to the brand’s history and production rigor.

A comprehensive impact model: Social and Ecological

Beyond product quality, BdeGust stands out for its 360º impact business model.

The brewery uses home-grown organic ingredients, aligning with current trends in sustainability and local sourcing. However, its most significant competitive advantage is its social mission: the brand serves as a labor insertion platformfor people at risk of social exclusion. For Hijos de Rivera, this acquisition represents a step forward in its strategic sustainability plan, allowing the Galician corporation to multiply the social impact of its projects through the professionalization and scalability of existing local structures.

Synergies within ‘Craft Partners’

BdeGust joins the Craft Partners division of Hijos de Rivera, an umbrella under which the Galician company supports independent brewing projects that share its philosophy of excellence and local roots.

Francisco Ucha, CEO of the Corporation, emphasized that the operation aims to drive the project’s development while keeping its essence intact, leveraging the group’s distribution network and commercial muscle. This integration enables BdeGust to scale its production and reach, while Hijos de Rivera diversifies its offering with products that appeal to an increasingly conscious consumer who demands corporate responsibility.
